HOW TO GET THE BEST OUT OF YOUR CANDLE

Candles are beautiful and create lovely ambiences throughout our home, however it is still an open flame.⁣ Here are some pro tips for the best candle care.

Candle Size

Candle size matters and it's important that you choose the right sized candle for each space in your home.

Our 300g candles are perfect for medium to large rooms, e.g., kitchens, bedrooms, hallways and living rooms.

The First Burn

When you light a new candle, allow the candle wax to melt across the entire top of your candle. This may take up to 3 hours depending on the size of the candle. This process prevents your candle from tunnelling.

Tunnelling is where there is a build up of wax around the edges of the candle.

Our Coconut Blend wax has a memory so if you don’t allow it to burn to the edge on the first burn it will never burn past that first

Longevity

All wicks must be trimmed before every burn. You can trim your candle wick using a wick trimmer, pair of scissors or by breaking off the burnt part of the wick when cool. If the wick is not trimmed the flame of the candle may grow too large and begin to flicker or smoke. This can cause your candle to burn much faster. #everypennycounts

Maintaining Quality and Safety

Always store your candles in a cool, dry and dark place.  Storing candles in direct sunlight for long periods of time may cause them to discolour. This does not affect the burn or smell it just won’t look as pleasing to the eye.

Keep your candle tops free of trimmed wicks and match heads. If dust forms on the surface of your candle be sure to wipe it clean before re-lighting. Keeping the lid on your candle can prevent this.

Always keep your candle away from draughts, children and pets. Never leave a candle unattended.

Most importantly, you must stop burning your candle once 6mm of wax remains at the bottom. Leaving a candle to burn out on it's own may cause the glass to pop and crack from the heat.

I hope this guide gives you a better understanding on how to care for your candle. These tips should help your candle burn better and for longer.
